Serco Learning and PXtech develop business intelligence tool to analyse school data...
A new business intelligence tool is changing the way educational establishments across the globe access and share live data in order to efficiently identify student issues, and make quick, responsive decisions to help pupils achieve their maximum potential.
The SaaS (software as a service) management information system Realview has been specifically created for authorities, education trusts and individual schools and academies worldwide by UK-based educational software specialist Serco Learning and business intelligence software specialist PXtech.
School improvement partners, head teachers and other senior managers and advisors will be able to quickly analyse the school attendance data in real time, which means they can easily support each other with up-to-date, accurate attendance records and assessment results, without the need for costly and time-consuming administration.
Each educational establishment will also be able to ascertain key areas for conversation and check on the progress of planned improvements and strategies.
Academies and schools are constantly under pressure from Government to achieve attainment targets and close the gap that exists between the attainment of vulnerable groups and others.
Realview's attainment screens are a key component in the system, as they allow users to view term-by-term assessment results. The added facility to filter the data enables users to see which group is responsible for a particular statistic and check on the progress of vulnerable groups across all schools.
Serco Learning's Managing Director Mohamad Djahanbakhsh commented on the development partnership between the two companies:
"We're delighted with our partnership with PXtech as it represents the fusion of innovative domain knowledge in the education market and leading edge intelligence software for the education sector. The core values of our partnership are focused on customer needs and building a solution to their issues, enabling them to be more agile and responsive to external and internal requirements for information.
"Together, we've been successfully winning new contracts since 2008, so we decided to formalise our arrangements following the successful installations of Realview across Telford & Wrekin Council's Education & Children's Services."
Software trials are also currently being undertaken by UK trusts and charitable divisions, such as the Harris Group, whose main purpose is to transform children's lives through quality education.
Richard Dorf, managing director of PXtech added: "Getting hold of data that is up to date can be difficult and it can often take days to manually extract data and compile reports. But our specialist software skills and knowledge of the education sector, combined with Serco Learning's educational expertise and position with this market, has allowed us to offer a real-time data solution that truly enhances the facilities for educational consortia worldwide."
